Growing up in Toronto, Ontario, Vanessa had always been enthralled by the fashion industry. She was inspired by the beauty and craftsmanship, later becoming fascinated by the endless ways to share stories through creation.

 

Learning to sew at the age of 7 sparked her drive to continue exploring the industry. In 2013 Simone established her business ‘Simone Vanessa’ doing alterations and womenswear. Vanessa later went on to graduate from George Brown College, ‘Fashion Design & Techniques’ program in 2017. 

 

Since then Vanessa has taken a passion for teaching. She teaches fashion design and garment construction within her community, alongside mentoring and working with local brands to achieve their goals.
